We all know that our country is going through tough economic times. Even those of us that are doing O.K. can still feel the tightening of funds and resources. And if we have had a problem with homeless families and children before its safe to say that the problem will grow even more now.
Taking care of our nation’s children should be a priority at all times. But right now there are families that will be put in situations that they did nothing to deserve. Many fathers will lose job’s that they worked hard to keep. Many will be laid off up in Michigan due to the Auto Industries collapse. And ofcourse there will be many more jobless mothers and fathers that we will never even here about.
Horizons For Homeless Children Help Out Children That Need Our Help
Its at times like these that we as a nation must come together. Even if we feel like our own job’s may not be as secure as we would like or even if we have had to tighten up our spending we must be willing to give to those that are much less fortunate than us. This could be one of those few times in life that we can do something big without really having to do that much. Many of us are truly blessed more than we could ever hope for. And when I see people losing their homes on the news I really begin to feel like the Lord has done so much for me and I know that I must bless others in the same way that I have been blessed.
Aloy of us probably do not have alot to spare. Its easy for us to dismiss our countries economic crisis as a problem for others. A problem that isnt our fault. But we must not give ourselves a free pass on this one. Instead of using reasons for excuses we should see this as a truly wonderful opportunity.
We can make a difference!
What a miracle it is to be able to donate to families that we know deserve help. We all know that there will be many many families that will lose their homes and whats worse we will know that alot of these families didnt do a thing to deserve it. Some may have taken loans that they shouldnt have. Everyone has been guilty of wanting more than they have though. But I would be willing to bet that most of these families were victims of a failing economy and loss of jobs and not of their own wrong doing.
Right now you can give to a charity that will provide real help for families that are in need. The Horizons For Homeless Children is a charity that helps kids of homeless families lead better lives. This charity is aimed at giving kids a chance to escape the darkness of sleeping in there families car. These kids will be able to eat healthy meals and join activities that will make them forget about how bad things have been for there family. They will feel normal again. And as far as I can remember all I ever wanted was to feel normal when I was a kid.
